Sorry to hear about that Dulc. Hopefully that wont include you, but if it does, go to a rival company and beat the piss out of P&G.

I didn't know you worked out at the Mason P&G. I work at Luxottica Retail, which is right there on Tylersville and Western Row.

Oh, it does involve me. Us. My Division will essentially no longer exist. I will be competing with my friends to get jobs within other parts of P&G. We have been told that we will be helped, and other sectors of the company are expected to consider our applications before others from outside. We have until May 1 to find a job within P&G or we will be offered a severance package. It is fair, I guess. I just am not looking forward to the whole application/interview process. "But if you can?t fix it you got a stand it."

Best wishes, Dulc.

This has been one fucked up, miserable week. There's certain people in leadership positions I can't even look in the eye.

I don't think I'm going to land. I'll try like hell. 18 goddamned years down the toilet.

When my last division was cut, there were only 4 jobs for 50 people. This is going to be a nightmare. I suppose all we can do is try to support one another as best we can.

BTW, hello CDS!

I'm so pissed off. Innovation ...... my ass!

Hey Jester.

Wish your stopping in was due to better circumstances.

Good luck, hope things turn out well.

I went thru a very rough time last year for 6 months after losing my job on July 1st. I was given an ultimatum from the company I worked for, go to Baltimore MD for a week or else. I told them no travel when they interviewed me, so we parted company. I had to take some jobs that were certifiably the worst employment experience I ever had. But you'll get thru it, just keep your spirits up, remember "This Too Shall Pass" and if you have to take something you don't want to do, just remember it won't be forever. "Any Port In A Storm" an old friend of mine used to tell me. I'm sure you will all find something to your liking in due time. May be a good chance to explore something new too.

Gary is right, I got made redundant last May, the whole process dragged on for a year because of emplyment laws, ect ect.
When I first heard I was devastated, Thinking christ what the hell am I going to do now, how am I gonna pay the bills (and we have some feckin big bills over here)
But after getting proactive in getting the CV sleek and mean and posting to companies rather than waiting for job adverts, then discovering actually I am quite employable, and companies seem to like me.
Took my time got some interviews under my belt, even if I knew i woulnt take the Job, just for practise.
ended up Taking voluntary redundancy, some money in the bank and a higher paying job. (though i now have to work nights )
You bright young things will be the same
good luck
